Common questions about DOTnow

Straight answers about where the data comes from, how fast it updates, and what to expect.

Where does the data come from?

Directly from the FMCSA registry. DOTnow indexes new USDOT authority filings and enriches each carrier with verified contact details. Nothing is bought from lead vendors or resold to other agencies. You are seeing live federal data.

How fresh are the leads?

Brand-new trucking companies appear in your dashboard within hours of receiving authority — often the same business day. Most lead vendors operate on a weekly or biweekly cycle, so their lists are days to weeks old by the time you receive them.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Your 7-day free trial starts with no charge. You enter payment information to keep your account active, but nothing is charged today. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts or minimum terms. Cancel from your dashboard in two clicks and you will not be billed again. No phone call needed.

What if no carriers match my filters?

Carriers file for authority every business day. Try widening your state selection or fleet-size range. Your saved filters update automatically — new matches appear as they file.

Do you resell the leads?

No. DOTnow does not resell, recycle, or repackage lead data. Every carrier you see comes directly from FMCSA. The tool is a subscription to live federal data, not a lead marketplace.

How do the renewal estimates work?

DOTnow calculates an estimated insurance renewal window from each carrier's last MCS-150 filing date. FMCSA requires this biennial update, and the timing correlates with policy anniversaries. It is a strong proxy — verify the exact date on the call.
